A Little About Me

I was born and raised in Missouri, just outside St. Louis.

My love of theatre began at a young age when my mom took me to see Roger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella.

I did not begin my own theatrical journey until high school. I was a carpenter for Proof and I fell in love with the process, the collaboration, and the feeling of accomplishment.

I was elected to the Missouri All-State Show at the Missouri Thespian Conference. It was hosted by Webster University and through this program I committed to attend the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University.

My freshman year I was thrust into the deep end in the first semester. I was assigned the Props Master position for the main stage show The Winter's Tale. It was a revelation. I fell in love with the diversity of tasks and extensive creative problem-solving required to thrive in that role.

I graduated with a BFA in Scenic Design and Technical Direction in 2013.

After college I work for Stages St. Louis as their Assistant Props Supervisor for two years and their Props Supervisor for two more.

I then moved to Cleveland to work at the Cleveland Play House for two years.

Now, I reside in San Diego and work for the La Jolla Playhouse as the Lead Props Artisan.

In my tenure at LJP, so far, I started a staff lead affinity group for Queer staff members called Playhouse Pride, organized the company's San Diego Pride Parade contingent for the last 4 years, participated in DEI workshops, and IATSE safety training sessions, including OSHA 10.

On a personal note:

I value my work/life balance. Mental health is a very important to me. I did not grow in an environment that believed in mental health, diversity, or inclusion and so, as an adult, I am an advocate for mental health education and DEI practices.

I also volunteer at the San Diego Humane Society on the weekends. I love all animals and I felt this was the best way for me to make a positive impact in my community.

Crafting, hiking, reading, and puzzles are some of my favorite things to do outside of work. I am an avid sports and RuPaul's Drag Race fan.

I have two beautiful fur babies pictured below. Taako (left) and Lup (right).
